This policy explains what LineTack (“LineTack”, “we”) collects, why, and what we do with it. LineTack is operated by BYTEDev Inc., a Delaware corporation in the United States.
LineTack is sold to businesses. Two kinds of people appear in this policy: the subscribing business and its office staff, who hold accounts with us; and the business’s workers, who are enrolled by their employer and who send text messages to the business’s LineTack number. We also process information about the business’s own customers, as it appears in the business’s accounting records and on receipts.
We do not ask for, and the service does not need, payment card numbers, bank credentials, social security numbers, or health information.
We do not use message content or QuickBooks data for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
Workers are enrolled by their employer, who is responsible for obtaining their consent before adding
them and for recording it. A worker may stop messages at any time by replying STOP, and
HELP returns help information. Message frequency varies with use, standard message and data
rates may apply, and carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. We do not share mobile opt-in information, phone numbers, or consent records with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Phone numbers are shared only with the messaging provider that carries the message on our behalf, for the purpose of delivering the service.
We share information only with service providers who process it on our instructions, and only as needed to run the service:
We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or sale of assets, in which case we will give notice before information becomes subject to a different policy.
No system is perfectly secure, and we do not claim otherwise.
A business may disconnect LineTack from QuickBooks Online at any time, from inside QuickBooks or from LineTack. On disconnection we stop reading and writing immediately and delete the stored access tokens. Charges already written to QuickBooks remain in the business’s books — they belong to the business, and removing them is done in QuickBooks.
Receipt images are deleted 90 days after we receive them. The image’s hash and the line items read from it are kept, so the audit trail outlives the photo. A business may agree a different period with us.
Message text, drafts and approval records are kept for as long as the account is active, because they are the record of how a charge on the business’s books came to exist. On written request from the business, or within 90 days of account closure, we delete or de-identify what we hold, except where we must keep it to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute. When a message arrives from a number that is not on a business’s allowlist, its content is never stored — we keep the sending number, the time, and a hash of the message, which is what lets us count and de-duplicate carrier retries without retaining a stranger’s words. To request deletion, write to hello@linetack.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, and to object to some processing. Workers should contact their employer first, since the employer controls the account; we will help. Requests to us go to hello@linetack.com and we will respond within the period the applicable law requires. We will not discriminate against anyone for exercising these rights.
LineTack is a workplace tool and is not directed to anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for material changes we will notify account administrators by email before the change takes effect.
